Preston Music Workshops
Music workshops for businesses, communities and schools in and around Preston
Preston Scratch Band
These sessions are open to anyone regardless of ability or experience. We meet to sing and play pop songs using the provided music books that give the lyrics, chords and melodies. Some participants sing and/or play the provided hand percussion. Other participants bring their own instruments to play - we regularly have ukuleles, guitars, violins and hand percussion but any instrument is welcome as long as it won't be too loud for the rest of the group.
We typically get through 10-12 songs in a session singing each one once or twice. Songs are chosen from a large selection that includes Hi ho silver lining, Eternal flame, You're so vain, Ever fallen in love, Sunny afternoon, Hey Jude, Mad world, Bird on the wire, Sweet Caroline, Folsom Prison blues, Space oddity, Bye bye love, Hallelujah, I guess that's why they call it the blues, Imagine, Knockin' on heaven's door, Livin' on a prayer, Love is all around, Make me smile, Run, The sound of silence, Time after time, Walk of life, Yellow, Ziggy Stardust, Get rhythm, Streets of London...
We meet on occasional Saturdays, 12.30pm-2.30pm in The Ferret, 55 Fylde Road, PR1 2XQ. £6 per session. Hot and cold drinks available at the bar. If you email JonAveyard1@gmail.com and ask to be added to the Preston Music Workshop mailing list, you will be kept informed of when the next Preston Scratch Band session will be taking place.
