Blue Flamingo
Blue Flamingo is the name given to a number of dementia cafes operating around Preston thanks to Erin Singleton and her volunteers. I provide music-making opportunities at two of these cafes.
The Blue Flamingo Community Choir (Penwortham) is open to anyone but accessible for people with dementia and their carers. We sing popular songs mainly from the 60s and 70s. Takes place on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday of each month, 12.30pm-2pm at St Teresa's Parish Centre, 34 Queensway Drive, Penwortham PR1 0DS. Free to attend.
The Blue Flamingo Cafe (Ashton) sessions run most Tuesdays 1pm-3pm at St Michael's Church on Egerton Road. I am typically there on the third Tuesday of each month to lead some drumming followed by a singalong.

"Jon has been so innovative in bringing classes/music to groups who may not have the opportunity. I know his value to the Blue Flamingo group which caters for people with dementia, I have seen the smiles on those taking part."
